Technology Playground kicked off its summer enrichment Youth News Network on June 22.  The program is host to 60 youth, through the DC Department of Employment Services.  This summer the youth participants will raise the visibility of our nonprofit organizations in the District of Columbia by identifying social issues that affect the youth and people of the district.  The youth will present their documentaries through the medias of photo and video highlighting the work that the organizations do to address the issue at hand.

The youth participants will be broken up into individual teams led by college mentors and will learn to engage their creative minds through either photography or videography to develop what they view as their story of how the organizations are successful in their work.  The program is supported by The Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation and the DC Department of Human Services Income Maintenace Administration.
